I was in the same troop as John in Singapore and for a time in Tidworth, got to know him really well. He was an extremely nice guy and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Condolences to his family. R.I.P.

When we were in Paderborn, John and I lived in the same village, Dahl, just outside Paderborn. John and his family lived on a small farm, and we spent many evenings haymaking, and drinking the farmer's home made brews. We met again when John was at what was FVRDE, at Chobham. We were in touch again recently and had a long chat on the phone. Our sincere condolences to John's family, and we greatly appreciated the fact that they took the trouble to go through his phone book to let us know.
