Not much hope left now :!: At the begining of the season I would never have guessed this to happen to Bolton in such a short period :? and it's too late to do anything about it now. :(

Not a lot I agree Sheila. Birmingham have a difficult run-in and we have a couple of home games where we could get the points. On paper the away games look difficult, but you never know. Problem is of course that we don't have a decent strike force, or a decent midfield, and the defence leaks!

My glimmer of hope is dwindling fast.

Why have they dropped Guthrie

Postby Sheila » Sun Apr 13, 2008 6:18 pm

Why have they dropped Guthrie :?:

He wasn't even on the bench and on the BWFC website it says there is no room now for Guthrie. What is that all about? :?

I know we won yesterday :) but again we were hanging on for dear life the last 20 minutes was a nightmare. We should have had about 4 goals by then not counting the ones we were not allowed for off side.

Megson had 4 subs warming up for over 20 minutes and never used them when it was clear that some on the pitch were clearly done for. Some fresh legs could have kept up with the attack instead of sitting deep and waiting for the inevitable. Fortunately for us we managed to hang in there but it is not good tactics. I hope we do manage to stay up but if we do we need to get rid of Megson and Garside I don't think fans will change their minds about that no matter what happens.

Never say never, it looks so bad but not imposible :(
I am not been one for lying down when things get tough, and the team must not either. I remember a team once won its last seven games to stay up, at least we dont have to win seven

Gavin McCann, Mike :)

If Villa play to form, tomorrow's a stone cold cert, but it's a derby so anything could happen, and Birmingham have a lot more to lose than Villa - looks like nail-biting times ahead, but Bolton have momentum upwards at the moment, whereas Reading are almost in freefall. They face Wigan next, and I can't see them getting one over them somehow.

Hope it goes well for you.

Coming Up:

Birmingham vs Liverpool
Wigan vs Reading
Tottenham vs Wanderers

Three difficult game for all of them and I don't fancy either Brum or Reading will get a point.

I don't see Reading getting a point, but how good a team Liverpool play will depend on how their Champion's League game went, plus they'll be thinking about the second leg.
As for Spurs, well we will probably score, but our defence just isn't there at the moment so you're well in with a chance of nicking 3 points, and certainly capable of holding us to 1.

k, we've done our bit (Reading 0 - 1 Spurs, plus missing about eleven clear chances at the 'Lane when you were there last week), now go and stuff Sunderland...

... Well done :)

That's it, isn't it? You'll stay up now regardless of what happens at Chelsea, if my maths is right.

Good to see Bolton survive it means I don't have to break the speed limit travelling to away games down sarf, and a bonus would be Birmingham to stay in the prem at the expense of Fulham and Reading. If Peaches has trouble getting home from the swamp, then them 2 grounds are a nightmare to get away from.
