You sure he was 14th/20th Kings Hussars ? I've just searched the Regimental Journals nominal rolls from 1948 up to 1960 and no Hogetts was found.

I've also tried a search for "Jock" and there are only two 1948 Journal "Jock" Campbell and 1950 "Jock" and Mrs Pentland.

Any more information ?

In 1952/3 in Sabratha we had a Bill Hodgetts in B Sqdn. He was a troop corporal. However, he was not from Scotland. He was English, perhaps from greater London area. I remember him quite well, outgoing and cheerful fellow. Where he went after that I can't say. Peter

According to the nominal roll Dec 31st 1951 (1952 Hawk Journal) there were two Hodgetts in the regiment.

Tpr M Hodgetts - A Squadron
Cpl W Hodgetts - B Squadron (L/Cpl 31st October 1949)

In the 1953 Hawk Journal there is a photo of the Regimental Shooting Teams, Cpl W Hodgetts was a member and is on the back row.

Also in the 1953 Hawk there is a mention that in "The Troopers Sten Gun Match - Troopers Poole, Hodgetts, Sherwood and Maggs attained 2nd place"

There is an article in the 1978 Hawk on Shooting in the Regiment and the photo first shown in the 1953 Hawk is reprinted.
