Arboretum Stone to be Unveiled 12/12/2014

Postby Bob_H » Tue Nov 18, 2014 12:58 pm

Excuse me if I'm furious this morning.

Yesterday one of our members visited the National Memorial Arboretum and took photographs. I am absolutely livid that they've labelled the 14th/20th memorial with a KRH Cap Badge!

First photograph shows the badge we submitted to the Association.

PANIC OVER

This from the KRH Assoc: "This is very clearly a huge error made by the NMA. We have checked our email traffic, and I can confirm that the badge of 14/20H that was appended to your email is exactly the same as the 14/20H badge that was forwarded to the NMA back in June 2014."

We await a resolution.

I Have to say that I am very relieved.

I must also apologise for my instincts that I, at first, believed that the error would lie with KRH We will soon see it corrected and I'll let you know when.

Having just read this topic, I too am livid despite the KRH Association obviously not being at fault.
This is an example of sheer inefficiency of some individual that has had the result of offending all our proud members sensibilities.
Dig it up, smash it up and replace it ASAP I say.
Incidentally until now I never realised what a cruel shadow of our wonderful cap badge the KRH have adopted.
Ian.

Why am I not suprised at this?

Since the British Legion took over the running of the NMA things have definitely gone down hill.

What else do you expect Johnny

most British Legion clubs are now frequented by clique drinking gfangs most who have never served (unless its time in Strangeways for not paying bills or fraudulent social claims )

My local Legion is typical of this it is no longer the preserve of time served ex military people but lager louts and chanchers.

Don't beleive I'm reading this its not like they used the 9/12L cap badge that would of been offending! Its the correct eagle just a different version.
Agreed somebody outside the association made a mistake but who hasnt in life.
Looks like they are going to correct it and peace with resume in the shires.

Brads

I am afraid I have never met you, or heard of you. But the 14th/20th cap badge to the 14/20th personnel is like a part of each and every one of us. We do not forget what our cap badge look like. Its like giving Andy Capp a bowler hat. Also it gives us oldies something to moan about.
A word is enough for a wise man

Brads, we're talking about a lasting memorial to the 14th/20th King's Hussars. I could not accept anything other than a badge truly representing our past Regiment.

Of course there have actually been many variations over the long years, but the final version was worn in 1992.
