'Morning Bill,
thank you for that, yes it has been a long time, but I remember very well those afternoons and using the ruins, perfectly functioning, 5000 year old facilities, something that would now have cost us our heads, I don't doubt.
Do you recall Ron Couchman of whom I have recently written, Roy Huson "rest his soul" and I used to call him "Crouch" to this day I don't know why!
When you are next in the Sovereign Centre, look over to the 3rd bench on the left nearest the coffee shop, BBs, and you might see a gnarled old wretch leaning on his stick, waiting for someone to get them in. ignore him, he tries it on with me as well!
Best wishes to you and the family, Singe

Do you remember the "Egg Banjoes" the boy fried the eggs in the sun on a flat stone.?
Lost so many of my piers from those days, Legs Lenton, Eddie Millward, john JG Wainright, Ozzie Osbourne, the list goes on, cannot believe i celebrated my 18th on the Queens Coronation Parade in Tripoli!
Regards, Bill.x

'Morning Bill,
I do remember the egg banjos, as Bodge says they were unforgettable , the little swine who cooked them was called Chico, we employed him in C Sqn on a variety of " duties" he probably became Gadafi's adjutant!, Singe

Did "Chico" also work for the "Dobie Wallah" ? Do you also remember the NAAFFI Manager, think his name was Mufood, the story was he was a Libian International footballer, a great guy, he coached the Band football team, who that year won the Darcy Cup, beating the LAD In the final?

The one on the right is or was called Ramadan. He eventually became quite senior with Libyan television. I met up with him in UK many years ago. Sherry1932
