Reunion Coach Travel to Blackpool and Return

Postby Bob_H » Tue Sep 24, 2013 1:49 pm

A proposal has been made for visitors to our Reunion in April to travel by coach for the return trip. This proposal is currently based around transport picking up in the Dorset main towns although this could be widened, or you could decide to travel independently to a designated pick-up point. We're unable to forecast exact cost yet as it depends on numbers to a large degree but we'd like to see <£40pp

Please add your vote above to indicate your serious interest in the proposal. Ignore if you are not in the South.

Disadvantages:
You won't have use of your car when in Blackpool
It's likely to cost more if your car would have more than two passengers
Advantages:
Probable financial saving for 1 or 2 passengers
    No car parking problems
    Remove stress
Save wear & tear on car
    Socialise en route
Relax on the Saturday evening prior to return.

Depart Friday 25th April, arrive at hotel in time for Cream Tea. Return 10am Sunday 27th April

Paul,

I don't suppose we expected too much via the Forum anyway. I've been ringing around a bit and have sent off a few emails. The consensus appears to be that 'it's a great idea' but, for their own reasons, they're not going to commit to it for reasons like 'We like to travel up on the Thursday', 'With four of us in the car, it's a lot cheaper', others said they'd think about it but haven't got back yet.

I think you're right, this can go on the backburner for now. We can always take it up again if we get an upsurge of interest at any time.

Thanks again though - back to the car sharing :)
