Seeing these photo's, I remember the day and I can see the window that that young Sapper got shot through while he was on the phone when his mate was f**king about with a loaded weapon.

Yes Algy - a very shocking and sad day - I was in the MRS (I think just after the shootings in which Mick Herbert and Joe Cotton sadly died, though I could be mixing up the two tours there), just across from it when it happened. I remember joining the medics who were trying to save the poor lads life by removing the phone mouthpiece from his throat as it was blocking his airway. He was on the phone to his mother in England as I recall.Les
