Beg to make a correction, but the last one was Hohne '79 during her visit after the regiments successful tour of Belfast, notice Col Pharo-Tomlin behind HRH whilst she chats with Tony Abbey, Ken Watkinson, Roy Fenty, Terry Murphy and Skip Rae.
Then it's Trooper this, an Trooper that
And Trooper how's yer soul?
But it's "Hawks are bloody 'ero's"
When the tanks began to roll!

Memorable collection Reg, thank you.

I see your Dad was in Italy 1944 - could he also have been at Medicina 1945?

Hi Bob, thanks for the reply; I'm not sure where he was in Italy, I guess the only way of finding out exactly where he was during the war are through regimental records if they still exist? Do you know where and how the elephant and hawk came about?

Regards

Reg

Hi Reg

I seem to remember Ken Preece telling me it was something to do with the fact that during WW2 The upper echelon of the Regiment were all related directly and indirectly with the Upper Echelons of the UK Powers that be. They elected to post the Regiment to India to cut down the chances of their relatives getting killed. I am only repeating what I was told.

Tony
