Rugby team:

Back Row: ?, Ted Morris, Nab Gardner, Les Brierley, ?,?,?, Bongo?
Front Row: Dave Tunnicliffe, Alf Angel, ?, Jimmy Mullaney, Graham Barker,?

Can't bring to mind "Bongo's" proper name. I know he left the regiment to go back home to South Africa, where I believe he took up a job with the police. Top sportsman ! Bet Les can give us the name.

Edit: It wouldn't be John Boulter would it ? Boulter and "Bongo" keep springing to mind and looking at the John Boulter profile would fit in with "Bongo's" rank and time of leaving.

Image 6:

Know the face, but not the name, Joe Foster, Could be Jim Eadsforth ?

Just spoken to Larry Hamblin and he confirmed that John Boulter and "Bongo" are one in the same. He also corrected me on the SA fact. Bongo returned to Rhodesia. Further to that, Bongo and Larry were in the same troop in B Squadron.

If you read this John, I've got Larry's telephone number, he would love to speak with you. Only problem with Larry is he doesn't have any Internet access up there in Aberdeenshire.

He's also off back to Barbados early February for at least a month.

Joe Foster was HQ 7 Armoured with me on ERE then returned to the Regiment at Paderborn at one stage was
running the Corporals Mess. Jim Eadsforth was A Sqn then went as a recruiter @ Manchester.

Bob

Take it your last post was ref image 3 ? If so then 5 & 6 is definitely Jimmy Mullaney and Graham Barker.

If you ever walked in fear of them when drunk, then they are two you would never forget. George Washington would probably confirm this. Assault Troop, B Sqn, Benghazi twynham, contained Graham Barker, Johnny Spilling and they were often visited by Jimmy Mullaney. When they had been on the beer, best to keep a low profile. George and I, Tom Howes, Cliff Ball were also residents, although not professional "piss artists" like the above. Troop Sgt at the time was Bob Garner, Troop Corporal was Bert Bridges and Lance Jack was Ginge Kennedy.

I think Jimmy died in the last 18 months (Feb 2010). Graham attended one of the early (Atherton) reunions with Jimmy. Johnny Spilling ? Never seen or heard of any of the others, although someone recently told me that Cliff Ball lived in Westhoughton. I've been here (Westhoughton) for the past 26 years and I've never seen him.

Les, Knew you would know everyone. Only thing is Graham Barker isn't a scouse, he's from Leigh/Atherton area.

Thought the chap behind Joe Foster looks a bit like Jim Eadsforth
