This was "The Morning After The Night Before". My wife (Sue) got home at 1030 and I rolled in at 1430. What a night that was!

I still don't know what possessed me to volunteer to be a "tankie" for a week! What an experience though; really showed me how the "other half" lived.

Don't remember their names after all these years. You must be right though.

In the picture with the cup is Dave Sloan who was 'Mr Vice'. Colin Clayton and myself (Bob Winch) were his side orderlys. The cup held about 2 and half gallons of Champagne but by the time it got to our turn, god knows what Mannie Clough put in it!!

As far as I recall, we (no names, no packdrill) decided that we wanted more music and as the group had gone to bed, had no option but to wake them up and demand they start up again, lol.

This was the singer doing something to a Chieftain gun barrel! For those with a dirty mind, it's not what you think, lol!

Pinky !
Agree with you on the Hohne days, Jock Cairns, wonder were he is now, bad enough trying to understand that Glaswegian accent when he was sober, let alone after a crate of Herfies !!
Then it's Trooper this, an Trooper that
And Trooper how's yer soul?
But it's "Hawks are bloody 'ero's"
When the tanks began to roll!
