new beer

Postby j kerwin » Thu Jan 14, 2016 8:02 pm

Pity it is not with a C. But we now have our own beer,
Noah’s Ark Ale' has been created by Theaksons brewers, which will donate 10p to flood funds across the north, for every pint sold.

T&R Theakston Ltd Executive Director Simon Theakston said: “We have all been horrified by the extent of the recent flooding and the severe impact on the lives of individuals and households all over the north of the country.

Must try a pint or 2.

Maybe we should all get together, build a big boat (about 1,420 cubits), and then half fill it with ale :)

How many pints is that Bob ?

EDIT - Just had a look on't'tinternet and discovered that a cubit is not a volume measurement but a measurement of length based on forearm length. So would need to know not only the length, but also breadth and depth of the hull. Going to see if I can find some old plans for the Ark.

Don't hold your breath though.

FURTHER EDIT - It's approximately 2,531,250 cubic metres, so half full = 1,265,625 cubic metres

This is based on some dimensions sourced from Wikipedia.

Next question - How many pints does that equate to. Isn't it fun to be an old git with nothing better to do.

Corrections welcome.
Regards

Sent a chill down me spine that did,
not the thought of having to bail the boat out by drinking every drop then hosing the excess over the sides but the thought of getting me trunk trapped between the hull and the iceberg. Are you sure it wasn't the 'tight panic'
