Let's Get The Brand Right

Postby Bob_H » Tue Nov 24, 2015 12:26 pm

Increasingly I see instances where the brand of the 14th/20th King's Hussars is not kept true to it's origins.

On Ebay and Facebook there are many instances of incorrect (and sometimes illegal) branding. For instance, on Ebay we see items such as those shown below. (I've no idea who the sellers of these items are, but I suspect that they are traders who are out to make some profit by offering items for sale from a host of Regiments and Corps and probably not connected to our Regiment in any way).

When Bill Bentley was in the process of procuring our Regimental Flag (of which he has donated many to Noah's Arc and to the KRH Association) he took great care to establish the correct badge, and particularly which colours should be used. It was in agreement with the then Colonel of the Regiment and the 'Brand Manager' (JC at the time) that the flag was progressed accurately.

Here are a few bad examples:

Although these are very close to the true colours they clearly display a KRH cap badge and not 14th/20th. The first is described as a '14th/20th King's Hussars Sticker' and the second as a '14th/20th King's Hussars Coaster'.

The next item has the correct badge but is made from an awful colour combination of bright yellow and bright blue!

So, what are the correct colours:
Referring back to Bill's investigations and more recent procurements for our online shop, the colours shown here were deemed to be accurate (these might appear differently according to your own monitor settings):

Our Blue is 'Deep Blue' and the RGB colour is '#333366' (51 51 102) - Pantone 2119 C
Our Yellow is 'Primrose' and the RGB colour is '#e6e99d' (230 233 157) - Pantone 2281 C
Our Red is 'Free Speech Red' and the RGB colour is 'cc0000' (204 0 0) - Pantone 7626 C
(Sorry if these mean nothing to you).

This then is a plea for anyone creating images for Ebay, our websites and our Facebook groups to push the right branding, and particularly get rid of the bright yellow and bright blue. :)

Well said Bob
Surely the only way we can make that happen is to ensure the Noahs Arc shop sell only items that are correct in colour and design that way we know there originalals and ebay etc will stop trying to sell them

The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expect different results
